Description: Peter (Pete) Jedick was an undergraduate student at Kent State University from 1967 to 1971. He was an eyewitness to the shootings on May 4, 1970; he was on the opposite side of the Commons when the shootings occurred. He relates his memories from the days leading up to the shootings and details his experiences on May 4. He also discusses the youth movement of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as the Kent State shootings, in relation to his 1998 book, Hippies, which is based partially on actual events.
