| Author: | Gadde, Maya |
| Description: | Bringing customers, partners, and suppliers closer together through the Web in a truly collaborative environment requires extensive information sharing, increasingly in real-time. Mature collaborative e-Business will enable closely integrated business processes across the enterprise and with business partners. This thesis focuses on developing a new data infrastructure called "Enterprise Information Collaboration Platform" that will scale to meet increasingly intense demands of rapidly delivering and exchanging information across the enterprise for collaborative e-Business. This platform extends the breadth, depth, and reach of business insight with a flexible architecture that will enable companies to be more nimble by continuously refining their analytic techniques as they adjust business goals and strategies. This platform extends the capabilities of enterprise OLTP systems by aggregating and caching critical back-office data to meet the real-time retrieval and data analysis needs of collaborative e-Business. This platform enables: • Analysis to span functional, organizational, and enterprise boundaries. • Integration by drawing business information from dissimilar enterprise systems. • Summarization and delivery of information to address all collaboration needs. The architecture of this platform comprises of data integration, data aggregation, data presentation and data collaboration components. These components are developed using J2EE technologies such as Java, JSP, Servlets and JDBC. The technologies used in this platform provide scalability, flexibility and platform independence. |
