| Description: | The Light Ship "Sumac" was built in 1903 by Burlee Dry Dock Company of Port Richmond, New York. Owned by the United States Light House Service until 1940, the "Sumac", with her crew of 27 men and 6 officers, was stationed at Milwaukee to tend the lighthouses on the Great Lakes. The "Sumac" was sold to a Canadian company in 1940 and was renamed the "Oscar Lehtinen". She was scrapped at Duluth, Minnesota in June 1957. |
