| Description: | Built for the Erie & Buffalo Line, she was completed in 1899 by Detroit Dry Dock Co., and ran between those ports and occassional trips to Port Colborne, Port Maitland and Niagara River. In 1903 she was sold to the White Star Line of Detroit and renamed "Owana" after being overhauled and placed on the Toledo-Sugar Island and Detroit route. Between 1925-1927 she was idle during court litigation until bought by Wm. Nicholson for the Detroit-Kingsville Nav. Co. in 1927. Completely overhauled, she was renamed "Erie" and placed on the Erie-Dover route. On Feb. 21, 1929 she was destroyed by fire at her slip in Ecorse, Michigan. Her machinery was sold for scrap and her hull sold four years later for conversion to a barge by Canadian parties. She was scrapped in Dec., 1981. |
