Title: Quebec - 71212 (C)
Author: Unknown
Description: The Canadian steamer was built in 1874 at Chatham, Ont., for the Beatty Line of Sarnia. She ran out of Sarnia to Lake Superior, Port Arthur, Fort William and Duluth. She was later joined by the "Ontario" and they became the largest vessels in that section. Sarnia Line later became the Northwestern Transp. Co. The "Quebec" sank in St. Mary's River in 1885. She was raised and rebuilt into an American steam barge, the "F. E. Spinner" which sank in 1900. She was raised again, repaired, and named "Helen C." which sank in 1922. She was raised a final time and used during the construction of the bridge to Belle Isle on the Detroit River in 1923, after which she was abandoned there.
