Built as the "Wissahickon", of iron in 1876 at Buffalo, New York, she first sailed for the Anchor Line (Erie & Western Trans. Co.). She was sold Canadian in 1907 and changed from 1619 tons to 1754 tons gross and 238 feet to 244 feet long. Also, her named was changed to "Wasaga". On November 6, 1910, while at shelter at Copper Harbor, Michigan, on Lake Superior, she burned and sank in 35 feet of water loaded with agriculture implements. She was owned at the time by Collingwood Shipping Co. of Collingwood, Ontario. |
