dc.description |
Built as the "Lake Fresco" at Lorain, Ohio, in 1919, she was first operated by the US Shipping Board. Later renamed "Jack" (in 1924), she was one of the Jack Steamship Corp. freighters operating on the lakes along with the "Ace", "King", and "Queen". These vessels made up the so-called Poker Fleet of the Minnesota - Atlantic Transit Co. She was sold to the US Maritime Commission in 1943. |
