| Description: | Globe Ironworks at Cleveland, Ohio built the steel freighter "Vulcan" in 1889. She was 1759 gross tons. The "Vulcan" ran from Cleveland, Ohio to ports on the upper Great Lakes until she wrecked on Lake Superior, October 30,1918. Salvaged and rebuilt to "canal size" at Collingwood, Ontario in 1920, the "Vulcan" was renamed the "Vinmount," and in 1944, she was listed to the Marine Industries of Montreal. |
