Description: The "Washburn" was built by the American Steel Barge Company of Superior, Wisconsin in 1892. She was of 2234 gross tons. She was built for the packet trade, but found to be impractical. She was sold in 1896 to the Bessemer Steamship Company of Cleveland, Ohio for the iron ore trade. At that time, her name was changed to the "James B. Neilson." She towed whaleback barge 102 and 103 along with the "Henry Cort." The vessel was sold in 1928 to Spokane Steamship Company of Detroit, Michigan. Again, the vessel's name was changed: "J.T. Reid." She was scrapped at Cleveland, Ohio in 1936.
