Built as the "Pathfinder" at Superior, Wisconsin, in 1892, of steel, this vessel was owned by Pickands & Mather of Cleveland, Ohio for the iron ore trade. It traveled between Lake Superior and Lake Erie until 1923. Then it was sold by the United Steamship Co. to Pioneer Steamship Co. on June 12, 1923, and renamed "Progress." In 1925, it was owned by Thompson Transit Co., who sold the vessel to Nicholson Universal Co. in February of 1927. It was listed under the name "Progress" until 1931 and was eventually scrapped in 1934. |
