Description: The "Canada" was built by William White at Sorel, Quebec in 1866. She was built of iron and was of 1768 gross tons. The vessel was owned by the Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company. She plied the waters of the St. Lawrence River between Montreal and the Sagueney. She sank off Sorel on the St. Lawrence River in 1904. The following year, the vessel was rebuilt and renamed the "St. Irene." In 1920, she was again renamed - the "Cape St. Francis." She broke up in 1928. This photo was taken between 1905 and 1920 when she was known as the "St. Irene."
