Description:	The Amherst Islander was built in 1929 in Collingwood, Ontario. She measured 67’ x 20’ x 6’ and weighed 75 gross tons. The ferry made fourteen daily trips during the summer and continued to transport island residents (including high school students) until the ice no longer permitted passage.
