Title: Ohio Environmental Protection Agency: An Internship Report
Author: Guckian, Jacqueline
Description: This is a report of my internship experience with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in the Surface Water Division at the Southwest District Office in Dayton, Ohio. Included in this report are the Best Management Practices for Sediment and Erosion Control used at construction sites as outlined in the Rainwater and Land Development Manual distributed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the duties I performed during my Spring/Summer 2007 internship. My core responsibilities included inspecting construction sites for their compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit, addressing sites out of compliance, and file management of inspection site information for future reference. In conclusion, I have presented my thoughts on the program and coursework followed as an Institute of Environmental Sciences (IES) student.
