Title: Canadiana
Author: Unknown
Description: Built at Buffalo in 1910 for the Lake Erie Excursion Co., she was a sister ship to the "Americana". The passenger excursion steamers ran from Buffalo to Crystal Beach, Ontario across the eastern tip of Lake Erie. The "Canadiana" was chartered in spring, 1958 to Toledo Excursion Lines, Toledo, Ohio, who purhcased the vessel in Oct. 1958 when sold by U. S. District Court to satisfy claims of crew for back wages. She was sold again in 1960 by U. S. Marshall's sale and unofficially renamed "Pleasurama". Laid up in Cleveland for a long time, she eventually was moved to Buffalo, then back to Cleveland in 1967 for rumored conversion to a nightclub. She broke from her moorings and sank at Collision Bend, Cleveland on Feb. 18, 1981, and raised in 1983 for possible refitting. No known activity after that date. She was scrapped at Port Colborne, Ontario in 2004. This undated photograph shows passengers arriving at their destination during one of Canadiana's excursion runs.
