dc.description Expressly constructed to run the rapids of the St. Lawrence River, the shallow steel hulled "Rapids King" was built in Toronto, Ontario, for the Canadian Steamship Company in 1907. She traveled between Prescott and Montreal by way of Lachine, Soulanges, Cornwall, Farran’s Point, Rapids Plat, and Galops Canals. The "Rapids King" was eventually laid at Sorel, Quebec, in 1931, until she was towed to Kingston, Ontario, and scrapped in May of 1949. en_US
