Title: Timothy DeFrange Oral History
Author: DeFrange, Timothy
Description: A Kent, Ohio, resident and Kent State University student in 1970, Timothy DeFrange describes what happened to him and his family the day of the shootings on campus. His brother had been killed in Vietnam the year before and the war had affected his family deeply. On May 4, 1970, Tim DeFrange's father was dying and his mother was with him in the intensive care unit of Robinson Memorial Hospital (Ravenna, Ohio) when the wounded students arrived. DeFrange relates what his mother saw and heard of the doctors' and nurses' reactions. He also discusses the antiwar movement at Kent State University.
