dc.description |
Letter written from Williamsburg, dated March 28, 1782, to Governor Patrick Henry containing a copy of a letter Rochambeau wrote to General de Choisy regarding confusion differentiating between freedmen and slaves who were serving officers in the army. De Choisy had "caused [all the negroes] to be taken up [i.e., arrested] indiscriminately." Includes a small engraving of Rochambeau. |
