dc.description Rev. John De Blieck was born in Belgium, February 16, 1821, and entered the Society of Jesus at Florissant, December 2, 1839. Shortly after ordination he became President of St. Xavier and in 1857 assumed the same position at St. Joseph's, Bardstown. Subsequent to that he did pastoral work for many years in Chicago and Cincinnati. From 1872 to 1874 he was Socius to the Provincial and then became President at Chicago. In 1880 we find him Tertian Master at Florissant, and while holding the same office in Chicago, he died May 30, 1883. --Anonymous Alumnus, The Xavier Athenaeum, February 1916
