Description:	Born in Chicago in 1904, Father Maguire obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. Louis University. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1922 in Florissant, MO., and was ordained priest in 1935. From 1955 to 1970 he served as President of Loyola in Chicago. In 1970 he became chancellor of Loyola and later chancellor emeritus. He retired in 1998 and died January 10, 2000, in Chicago at the age of 98. -- McCain, Marie.
