dc.description	Father Mulligan was born in Chicago where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in 1937. That same year he entered the Society of Jesus at Milford, Ohio and continued his studies at West Baden College, Indiana and the University of Detroit. After his ordination in 1950 he completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree at Louvain University, Belgium and post-doctoral studies at the Sorbonne, Paris. --Xavier Communique, Vol. 3, No. 1, September 1, 1972
