Description:	Confidential letter written on stationery of the Executive Mansion, dated Mary 17, 1863, to Joshua F. Speed. Lyman Guinnip, a coloel in the 79th Illinois Volunteers, had been accused of helping slaves escape and Lincoln writes, "I scarcely think he is guilty of any real crime."
