Title: | East State Street, Fremont, March 1913 |
Author: | Niebergall, Ernst |
Description: | Fremont's State Street runs perpendicular to the Sandusky River. Homes, businesses, and factories east of the river were heavily damaged by the flooding in March 1913. Flood waters ran with such swift currents on Fremont's east side that rescuers needed safety ropes as well as boats. It took more than two hours to rescue residents from one house on East State Street. |
